Karaman Organized Industrial Zone was officially established on 24.12.1989 with the publication in the Official Gazette numbered 20382 and was registered in 1990 with registration number 59 by the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology, thus gaining its identity. Initially covering an area of 50 hectares, the surface area was increased to 150 hectares in 1990 following the decisions of the Site Selection Commission, and later expanded to 617 hectares by incorporating the surrounding parcels. In 2014, 407 hectares of land, owned by the Treasury and the Provincial Special Administration, located in the east and south parts within the site selection boundary, were registered in the name of the Karaman Organized Industrial Zone, and the prepared zoning plan was approved by the ministry on 30.10.2014. The implementation plans, based on this zoning plan, came into force with the decision of the Provincial Administrative Board dated 16.09.2015, and the zone is established on a total area of 1024 hectares. The number of industrial parcels within our region is 310.
The Organized Industrial Zone is located on the Karaman-Ereğli highway, 11 km away from the city center, and is established on an area of 1024 hectares. The current employment in the active industrial facilities within the Organized Industrial Zone is 11,090 people.
